Who Are We?
A little about us...
We are two 40+, tightly-knit, fiercely proud Latina sisters, born 8 years apart, though you can hardly tell when you see us interact, because we are simply like twins in many ways.
Born in New York and New Jersey to Colombian parents, we grew up exposed to so many personalities, cultures, and experiences that shaped who we are today. We are best friends, united as much by the similarities in our personalities that help us to feel understood, and the differences that compliment us.
We started our Instagram page, @CurlyCurvyPassion, in the Fall of 2016, not only because we were both going through major transitions in life and needed a healthy distraction, but also, because we simply missed each other so much. Living clear across the country from one another, (California & Florida), with a 3-hour time difference, we desperately wanted a way to feel closer, to collaborate, and to share our unique, often quirky, view of life with others.
As of 2019, we are now roommates, living in South Florida, and continuing to navigate change, as we share our thoughts and stories of growth, wisdom and navigating life after 40.

You can say that we have a very optimistic view of the world, while also being unapologetically ourselves. We love to laugh, to socialize, to connect; while also cherishing our moments of solitude. Through our combined experiences in life, we finally arrived at a place where we can be proud of our curly hair, our curvy bodies, our quirky personalities, our passionately bold opinions on the state of our world and our commitment to celebrating individuality and kindness. We refuse to be boxed in or narrowly defined as only being "one thing." Showing up as whole, multi-faceted humans, flaws & all, is the name of the game for us. We are not afraid to be different from the crowd, to speak our minds, and to do our part in our communities to make a difference. As #spoonie warriors, living with the effects of chronic, invisible conditions, we are also fierce advocates for Invisible Illness Awareness.
By sharing anything, from lighthearted, simple thoughts about our favorite hair, beauty or fashion items, to our reflections about lessons learned in life, love, health, wellness and charity, we hope to positively contribute to society, We strive to leave a legacy of empowering others to be confident, culturally-proud, loving, kind, tolerant and generous.
